Abstract

The chapter considers how an adult’s wellbeing stems from experiences in the early years. These experiences may include challenging events, family circumstances, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties or genetic or hereditary factors. Philosophical perspectives are explored and the chapter considers how these factors can influence approaches in practice.
